It’s not every day that a rocket scientist comes to us asking for help. So when Persimia – founded by two aerospace engineers – asked United Collab to design a striking visual brand, website, and app to better serve the safety of communities near wind turbine installations, we jumped at the opportunity.
When it comes to wind turbine setback standards, there is no one-size-fits all. That’s why Persimia set out to develop the world’s first physics-based simulation to provide companies, communities, and individuals with the ability to perform site-specific risk analyses of potential blade and ice throw for wind turbine installations.
We designed a visual identity system that reflects Persimia’s cutting edge technology. The logo reflects the blade throw simulation models and evokes the continuous motion of spinning windmills seen on wind farms.
UI and UX were paramount as we developed Persimia’s website and app. Due to the various audiences for this tool, from wind farm engineers to families considering the implications of wind turbines coming to their community, it was imperative for us to think through every detail of the user experience to maximize accessibility to this groundbreaking tool.
